I have to say that that car is very well kept. Look how good the leather is.... None of the buttons are peeling either.

Lotsa cash, but maybe someone will pay it. How often will you see a MkII in that kind of condition that is all original, rather than restored and improvised? I have better things to do with $30k, but some people do not.

The BIN is set at $40,000.00, but I bet you could get it for $38,000.00...............:biglaugh:

Its funny when these pop up every so often.. :)

when "these" pop up every so often?

I have never, EVER seen a mk2 go for $30k before on ebay, that's fucking rediculous bullshit. Someone is highly delusional.

Sure, let's ask twice the original selling cost on a 22 year old car, BRILLIANT. I don't give a fuck HOW many miles are on it. Put down the crack pipe!

The highest I've seen a mk2 go for was about $16,000 for a 17,000 mile black 1982 that was picked up in AZ and now resides in Ft. Lauderdale.

I saw that the other day and actually thought about writing them and telling them they are crazy. They'll figure it out on their own since there are other MKII's on ebay right now in like condition and like miles for under 10k.

:) I did not mean they actually sell .. I just meant that ebay gets an insane person like this trying to sell a 20+ year old car for 40k.. But its not the first one I have seen and wont be the last.

Did you see this in the shipping information? I thought it was funny. I guess it's just standard for his auctions.

Local pickups are subject to sales tax and a $5.00 handling fee per item.

Also, did you see the pinstrips upclose when they showed that scrap and they didn't even line up.

Ha I thought this was sorta funny - the seller actually responded to my question... I think I wrote something like "Is the $30k starting bid a misprint, or did you actually expect to get over 5 times what your car is worth?" I dunno something along those lines....

she wrote back <quote>"I understand your impulse to question the start bid, but the prices are correct. The car is in superb condition, and this is a sought after vehicle. We called the Toyota dealership, and they indicated the asking price is quite reasonable.

Based on our research and the consignor's desire for top dollar, we're testing the market. There may actually be someone out there willing to pay. We'll just see what happens.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your comments.

I've got the high bid right now at $30,001.00 and it looks like it's going to be mine. Dont nobody bid on it please and raise the price. I'm willing to go up to $31,000.00 if I have to, but I want to spend that extra thousand on some new wheels. Sincerely, Jay
