So i did my valve cover gaskets today and when i was done i went to start the car it immediately started went to 1100 and droped to idle 650-700 for about half a sec and died it did this quite a few times.

So i kept looking and couldn't find anything still can't :(

So the car now starts and holds idle fine. But when i touch the throttle it starts to stall if i hold throttle to 100% the car will drop to 500rpms and then jump to 650 then back to 500 back and forth until i let off the gas.

What did i do wrong ?

I have to work in 7 hrs lol so any help would be great.

Thanks SM in advance. Jordan

I think its something to do with timing but the car ran fine before i started today. Now that i finished its not... I didn't touch any of the timing stuff Belt//cams/CPS nothing :(

I've checked Spark Plug order
Grounds
Vacuum
Tps Sensor is plugged in
AFM is plugged in (Didn't even remove any of this stuff)
Even pulled my glove box and made sure wiring was ok from where my SAFC is hooked up to the ecu

NO codes (just keeps flashing)

Could i have popped a Fuse?

I just did my head gasket and i had a similar problem. It died at idle. It turned out to be a vacuum leak. I would check all your lines and sensors. Also, did you move your distributor? that could definitely mess up your timing. If you took the throttle body apart then that could do it too. i would say, look at everything you moved or touched. make sure you put it back as it was. And make sure your ignition/plug wires are on all the way. you should know when they slip on. Im not a mechanic, but i hope this helps.

Check the CPS wiring... it tends to be pretty brittle by now, especially as it sits above the exhaust manifold, and it's nearly impossible to do the valve cover seals without disturbing it. Wiggle it a bit, see if it improves, if so, you need to rewire the thing.

All plugs are in order and popped into place
Vacuum is all good.
My car is a Turbo and has Coil packs and CPS no distributor

So after the car has been off all night i go out there and start not realizing i had jumped T1/E1 for codes and forgot to take out the wire. but the car started right up revved up normal but i noticed the check engine light blinking so i went out to check codes and saw the wire still there lol.

So i took it out and started the car again it started and revved fine again but the CEL came on so i checked codes and i'm getting 41 (TPS Circuit) i can't get away from that dreaded code.

But i don't understand how the problem fixed it self....
