hi everyone, theres something weird going on my car its an 88 turbo, i refresh the engine 3-4 months ago(new acl bearings,piston rings all seals etc...) now heres the proble since the rebuild i have been having problems with my battery its a cheap one i bought in a tire shop-band ameritron.....anyways the problem is that when the car is off the battery its drained but when on its fine.i have been dealing with that like 2-3 months i drive the car and when im off i disconect the battery terminals and then reconnect em back, so it havent been that bad since i only use the car to work or close places near my home,well now comes the weird part some weeks ago i noticed that the cable that goes on top of the alt the one with a nut{i think its a + cable} was glowing red and throwing sparks when i rev it up although the wire harness havent catch fire yet. im really worried about it cause i already know whats a burning harness and its not funny,a friend of mine told me to put a thicker cable from that terminal to the battery but i really domt know if its going to work.i prefer to ask you guys cause i dont trust my car to any mechanic that isnt myself but the electric area isnt my best so please someone help mi......thanks

You need smarter friends. Much smarter.
In this case I would trust a mechanic that isn't yourself. And stop driving the car. What you have is a serious fire hazard in multiple ways.

Possibly a bad alternator?Can you have it checked?What is the charging situation according to the gauge on the dash at idle?Could you have possibly pinched a wire on the motor install?
