i now have spark, when i spray starting fluid in the intake, it will start for a second.... now i need some help. i thought i had fuel. when i took off the bolt on top of the intake, (the one that has the fuel line) it would squirt gas. so i have fuel, but how can i test if the injectors are opening and opening at the right time? what should the resistance be? what should the voltage be going TO the fuel injectors? is there a way to diagnos it thru thr diag port? thanks.....

If it doesn't light up you need to check the bulb. If there are codes,as I'm sure there are, we need them. Other wise we could end up spending a lot of time running in circles.

It may very well not be there at all. I know people that can't get that light to go out so they just remove the whole damn bulb. Your MKIII's previous owners might have done this.

You should fix the MIL but it'd be easier to check for codes on Vf. If none are stored you could get to the bulb another time. You could also check for them on W at the ECU. While you're there you could test the bulb too.

i know its there and it works, before i jumped the ecu, it would light up before i would trn it over.... anyway, i got spark now, i sprayed some starting fluid in it today and rawr! it ran for a sec (only off the starting fluig) how can i check the fuel injectors to see if they are being activated? what should the resistance be? what should the voltage be coming from the fuel injector plugs?

hmmm I'd say check your fuel pump first since its really easy:

if that is the problem you can get a new walbro for 100$....it sounds like you are having the same problems I was last summer, the car was getting harder and harder to start, then just died on me while driving and wouldnt start at all.
