hi my name is Jay.. i am a ex mkiii owner and im looking to get another one soon. i use to own a 1990 silver turbo 5 speed hardtop wit some BPU.. some of you might remember my own mk3 and some might not but heres the link of her when i posted her for sale in 2006..

its been 3 long years and now i think im ready for another one =).. when i owned this mk3 i was about 18 or 19 yrs old.. and was a student and really didnt have much funds to do her up properly... but i think im ready for another now.. i know i missed alot of stuff while i was gone but im looking forward to getting back and getting involved on the forums and local meets. this time im going to restore her and she will be my weekend/track car.. i wanna do a little bit of drag, auto x, drift, and maybe time attack.. im on the market right now so i would like some suggestions and tip on what to look for when lookin at the car and test driving it.. i wanna knwo the ins and outs of this car and what to keep an eye on when looking at one.. thanks guys and i look forward to owning a mk3 once again =) thanks

oh yea what do you guys think about that 92 mk3 im looking at.... whats it worth? what should i watch out for when i check it out and drive it this weekend?

Welcome back!!

Well...most of the ones I've seen with that mileage go from 4k to 6k in NH. I bought mine for 5500 from SC, just before the headgasket went lol...so be sure to check for that. Portable compression tester or take it to a dealer etc etc.

If the head goes, plan on spending 1 to 2k to have someone do it, or 400 and a few weekends if you do it yourself (and I applaud those who do it themselves).

Check for rust under the spare and under the rear quarters...and under the carpet behind the passenger/driver seat. If you got some there, expect some decent body work to be had (500-1k).

There really is a laundry list of things to look for, PM me if you're interested...I'm not sure everyone wants to see a novel here lol...
