Allen set screws in the 3rd valve cover?

What size threads are they? The big beasties in the 3rd valve cover gasket (in between the main two)

I believe they are 14 mm
I took a bolt and a couple of nuts and put them together.

i actually found in all my extra crap an extra long 14mm nut.....PERFECT..

but the above mentioned ways are prolly your best bet

true story - the great JBL welded one for me from a bolt and nut when I bought his stainless cover, what a nice guy.

harbor freight tools you can get a full set of allen sockets for like $12. they are suprisingly very nice too!

That's fine, I'm in no rush... just want to know what size tap I need to pick up

I'm guessing 16x2.0 or there abouts, not going to be a cheap tap at that size.

Ok I get 24x1.5mm pitch...

As I said this tap is going to be exe!

If you're just cleaning out the threads and have a spare plug grab an angle grinder with a thin disc and cut a groove or 2 across the threads and use this as a tap/chaser.
