Alarm System questions

Hi everyone,

The alarm system that came with the Supras as standard equipment.... ummm Anti-theft deterant.... is what i think it was called. I havent seen a current post regarding this....

Anyways... do any of you still have it installed in the car? Actively working? Taken out?

If it is in the car do you use it? how can I have it activated? dealer??

Or do you have any suggestions for having a new one installed????

Anyone need a TTDS computer?

I got myself a autopage remote start alarm, and wired it up to the factory alarm's starter kill switch for added protection.

You dont need to have your system activated, it should do so automatically whenever you lock the car with the key!

Edit: I think it's called Toyota Theft Deterrant System, i could be wrong though =P

i just look my doors and shut them and it automatically comes on. just watch the security light, and it will stay lit solid for a little while then start blinking and then you know its armed.

a good way to test it is to realease the hood but dont open it up and lock the door to set the alarm. then pick up the latch to open the hood and it should blow you away LOL

its in the manual. the security light stays solid red for around 30 sec to give you a chance to open anything (hood, doors, hatch) without the key. afterwards, its armed. whenever you lock your doors and open em by flipping the lock manually (or pushing the unlock button, not sure) it'll go off. the other way is to release the hood. still works ok for me, i use it to leave my windows cracked when im not gonna be too far away from the car. in addition to the blaring horn, your headlights pop up and flash, which is damn cool.
