I have a green wire with red stripe and its just hanging coming out of the airflow meter connector harness area, when I ground it with the ignition on it makes a click sound what is it and does it need to be grounded?
Sorry for abandoning you, but I don't have a pre-89 wiring harness to compare to, mine is the 89 setup. I know the wire colors are different there, too.
its strange I have no idea where its suppose to go but I know if I ground it with ign on I get a click sound... I think it might of been some kind of ground for maf but im not sure
Do you have the original Toyota AFM? If so, it is one of the 5 wires that plugs into the AFM. It is not a ground, and grounding it is not going to be a good thing.
well now im switching to a MAFT but I was using the LEX and its not one of the wires in the connector wait... unless somehow it pulled out underneath the insulating of the harness running to the maf and I cant see it because your right, there is the same color going into the maf connector hmmm.... im gonna pull the harness apart and look and get back to you.. it might of broken off inside and I cant see it because the coating is covering it... hmm why does it click when I ground it lol,
I took apart the whole front harness and it keeps running back I cant find where its coming from, the wire is the SAME color as the MAF wire but where it came off of is unknown, it comes out around all the front temp sensors and maf wires. Can somone PLEASE help solve this mystery!!?? it makes a click sound I think in the maf when its grounded with ign on. what could it possibly do and where does it go =(
Guys, the wire dident just grow out of the harness LOL take one more look please... I riped the coating off to try and trace it down thinking it broke off from the maf wire (because its the same type wire) but they are seperate.. WTF
PS the wire in question is LIGHT GREEN with red stripe the MAF wire is darker green with red stripe!!
I was told it was the KS signal of the AFM, my AFM connector already has all 5 wires
