air filter questions

i pulled off my air filter to clean it, first time i clean it. i thought it was the same KnN i had on my old car, its not. it is one of those cheap autozone ones. my question is can i clean it and oil it with my KnN filter cleaner (it is a cotton filter), or do i need to trash it. im hoping it can get me through holydays, ive spent all my play money on my wife.

The cotton ones should be thrown out. A new one at AutoZone is pretty cheap.

The cheepo autozone and alike filters should not be reused. You should get a AEM dryflow filter, no oil to ruin your afm. :biglaugh:

as far as wix, the stock housing is gone, it is just maf and filter if u know what i mean

you already have the adapter, so getting a cone filter is pretty cheap...

if cheapness is a concern, why not keep the old filter in there? Unless it is EXTREMELY clogged, can it really do any harm?

it isnt damaged, just wasnt what i thought it was.

after the holydays i think i will get the apexi.
