air filter question

this is a bit stupid, but i thought id ask it. with my turbo i have a 4in inlet on it. however i'm using my old air filter which has a 3inch inlet. so i had to use a reducer to make it fit.

do you think i'm killing flow or performance. i can't see it being that much of a difference.

well, to some degree yes. but only if the turbo has enough guts to outflow what you have. it really depends on the size of the filter moreso than the inlet imo.

you might have a 4" inlet but the compressor wheel may only be 2.5inch.
