Ahhhh stupid problems...

Heh my gas tank is leaking. it leaks like ate 3/4 tank to 1/2 tank. Now what are my opttions here. i haven't torn it off yet but is there any way i could seal it? and no its not my gas lines cause they were replaced as well. Ugh i hope i can make it to the supra meet this friday. or else ill be super pissed! God i love mk3's BTW anyone know of any gas tanks i could buy for the mk3?

Can you see the place where it's leaking? Maybe lift the back up so the gas doesn't come out anymore and use some jbweld on it, make sure the tank is pretty empty tho so when you lift it there's little enought to not cause you problems.

ugh i just opened it up, and the pipes that carry the gas from the pumps to the tank are rusted as well and the tank has a hole. Ugh stupid things. im gonna sand it down then use the jbweld like you directed. hopefully it holds

if it was me i would look at getting a replacment tank, as the gas tank is not an area you want to mess around with... if not new im sure you could find a good used tank from a junker somewhere.. or maybe i have just seen to many peoples gas tanks cause some serious problems..

I had the same problem. Not promising this works(kinda depends on your hole). But, as a temporary fix, put your gas cap on extremely loose.

I got it done at a shop. honestly after sanding it down to the bare metal, it looked good but then there were too big of holes to jbweld it. so i got it my friends shop and he did it for me for 300 bucks cdn. Then they sprayed it with a fiberglass coating so i wont have problems in the future. im so glad this headache is over.
