I see that my drivers front side is F'ed up. For some reason the bozo who did it diddnt put the squealers on the drivers side so when that sides pads started to wear rapidly I wasn't warned.

The side twords the wheel was just metal. No pad left whatsoever. So now I know what that awful noise was... Sad.

I ordered some new rotors and pads for the front axel but I tihnk im going to be returning the rotors... I am accually going to see if I can get my old ones turned and return the new ones to Kragen to buy the next part I need possibly... A new drivers side caliper.

My neighbor(and resident hot rodder :icon_bigg ) told me what he believes the reason my drivers side wore down so rapidly is that the caliper is not releasing fully or somthing of that sort. If I can get the old rotors turned ill pocket the cash and head to a local store(monument auto parts) where he gets mad discounts at and see if I can pick up a OEM caliper. While im at it i might as well upgrade the front lines to SS lines eh?

Also is it good practice to replace both calipers at once if it does come down to that?

Cliffs. My brake system is fucked up. In the front that is.

PS im also pulling code 12. I checked the two wires from the CPS and it seems connected...

i'd say that if you've gone metal to metal (no pad in b/n the backing and the rotor) chances of turning the rotor are pretty slim, just depends on how much gouging the backing of the pad has run into your rotor...maybe not brembo but for the price of rotors it's almost more cost effective just to replace the rotor... i can get napa (don't know actualy supplier) but not chinese or korean or other cheap ones still for like 70 or so a rotor. turning them at the shop i worked at for a while was more than that each rotor

just some food for thought

From what Ive gatherd I can get a rotor dialed and turned for 10$ at this one mom and pop gas station. Each rotor from Kragen cost me 55$ so if Either are fixable ill pocket the cash and try to get some OEM calipers. Ill let yall know.

BTW the drivers side rotor doesnt look real bad. Its not mad deep gouges. just pretty rough.

Here are some pics...

First one. Havn't we seen this a few times...

Second one. The pad I am holding up is the passenger side pad. The other side of that rotor was comprable. The far right was the drivers side pad twords the wheel. Eaten tot he metal.

The last pic is the rotor. It looks turnable to me. But I dont have any micromiters to be exact.. Is anyone else on the FUBAR brake caliper road like me?

i am atleast on the rears, but since the fronts are on their way figure just do all at the same time, my rotors are worse actually grinding the padless pad into the rotor (talk about one hell of a nasty noise) but a local shop has a decent deal on brembo blanks where i can all 4 wheels for 200
