I'm having problems with my aeromotive unit. it won't hold a steady pressure. i have ot adjust it all the time and it's making it impossible to tune. if i set it to say 30 the next day it will +/- 3 psi. i know it's the not gauge cause the car will run rich or lean.

the unit is like a month old. should i take it apart and look for containimants

no problem

but just to clarify a bit more

the guage that you use is probably one of those bolt on ones? If so then yes barometric changes will affect guage reading. The reason is that it uses atmosphere as the reference.

ninjaedit:: did't know it was liqued fill. Those are worst because the liquid portion is used as refernce. What happens when any cools or heats up?

At what pressure are you trying to set it at? if you are trying 30 psi, it is the lower end of its operating range.. Mine also does the same at 30 psi.. but works fine at 36 psi.

I have aeromotive with summit liquid filled gauge set at 30-- engine run. Always reads correct. I read somewhere when you have a liquid filled gauge under the hood the heat from the engine will heat the gauge (liquid) and readings will be off. Then return to normal when cooled. FWIW, my underhood gauge will read about two pounds higher than my cockpit gauge (autometer) when hot, equal when cold.
