Hey guys my supra was broken into 2 weeks ago and the thief's tried to snag my turbo timer and boost controller, but after they had ripped it off they had seen that unless they cut the wires they wouldn't be able to get it out easily. When they ripped it off though with the two units came a large patch of my vinyl that was attached to the car. Since then I have armor alled the patch and all around it while I was doing the rest of the car. Now nothing will stick the units back to where they were. I have tried duct tape, hockey sock tape, and double sided tape, the three stickiest things I know of. I was going to go super glue but the permanence of that scared me. I have also thought of taking 800 grit sand paper to it just to rough it up a little, but I don't know if that will work. So I was hoping someone on SM could help me with my conundrum...

What do I clean it off with though? I kind of figured it wouldn't stick since armor all is so greasy... Just some Windex with ammonia?

Ya. Is it something that is visual or on the inside that you wont see?

I would use brake cleaner on a rag and be care full.

Rubbing alcohol works fine as well and not as strong as brake cleaner

Exactly
Also if you want a good adhesive go to wal mart and look for red double sided tape. Its like 6 bucks but works very well.

Once I stick the units back on I won't see anything. I will use a little bit of brake cleaner then try my double sided tape again. Thanks for the fast help again guys.

Well I used brake cleaner already. It worked great and everything is sticking better then ever. Going back out to re-moisten the vinyl.
