AC R12 to R134a retrofit

Hello All,
Just bought me a 1989 Supra and loving it, however the AC is not blowing cold and would like to get a conversion kit to R134a. i've read from it's NO PROBLEM just charge it with R134a, to full blown change everything.
Any PROs and Cons regarding the conversion?

NO you cannot just simply charge it with R134a. 134 requires a synthetic oil in order to circulate it. It will not circulate the mineral oil in the system itself alone. If your a/c stopped blowing cold or is not blowing as cold you have a leak and should fix that first before doing anything. My personal opinion is stick with R12 its not that hard to get. If you are dead set on getting R134a its recommended on draining the compressor oil of the old mineral oil and refilling with the recommended amount of Ester oil. Flush the entire system, and if you want to maximize the performance change the Condensor to a Parallel flow type if you want it to cool anywhere near as it did with R12.
