ac noise??

I just had my ac recharged about a month, ago after not having it work for 4 years, and about 2 weeks later it went out... so i take a look at it today and the belt snapped off and was twisted laying on the bottom of the under guard.

So simply enough I replaced the belt and now everytime I turn the ac on it makes this clicking noise and it gets louder as it revs... maybe the ac clutch?? bearings?? not sure what do you guys think?

i had the similar problems but as a month passed it got quiter and quiter and then it just disappered.....
hope it stop for ya cuz mine was annoying as hell!!!

yea so it turns out that the compressor clutch is stuck and the belt just smokes around the unit now so.... no ac its lookin like for the week in washington that its acually hot... o well

Well, usually if the clutch is engaging, and the belt smokes, then the compressor is seized.
