AC 1jz problem

so im driving my car and the ac wouldn't come on. when i got home i smelt burning rubber and saw smoke coming from my hood. when i popped the hood i noticed the smoke and smell was coming from the ac compressor pulley. now the ac won't work and the compressor pulley kinda rattles and very slightly, almost unoticably, wobbles. is this a quick fix or do i have to get new compressor? and are 1j and 2j compressors compatable? sorry if this is a no brainer i tried searching but all i got were vague answers. i kinda want to get it done b4 i drive to SILV in oct. thanks again

From what I remember, the compressors are not entierly the same, but you can swap the components over to make them the same. I think it has to do with the 1JZ compressor being for R12, and the 2JZ compressor being for R134A

I had close to the same thing happen to me. i'm just going to replace the compressor w/ another, i might try the 2j route though
