Hey guys, I'm coming to you asking for help. I've been through about 15 pages of search results but still can't seem to figure out my problem. I'm trying to help a friend with his brakes. His car is a 1989 Turbo 5 speed with ABS. During his rebuild, he decided to eliminate his abs unit entirely. We purchased all the NON ABS brake lines, Distribution block, and NON ABS Master cylinder. Before bolting up the master cylinder, the master cylinder WAS bench bled on a vice. So far so good. We bolted the master cylinder on to the car and began the bleeding process. As soon as we started to bleed them, the resevoir began to foam up and bubble up like crazy when we released the brake pedal. We're getting air from somewhere. So we figured it was the lines. We took the brake lines OFF of the master cylinder but left it bolted ON to the power brake booster and proceeded to "bench bleed" the cylinder. The same outcome, WTF. We took the master cylinder back off of the car, and bled it again. This time it was FINE. So we bolted it back to the booster, and got the SAME PROBLEM, MORE BUBBLES. I may have left something out but it's damn near midnight and they've been working on the car all day. Any help troubleshooting is EXTREMELY appreciated!

too bad your friend wasted his money on all new non-ABS parts if he simply wanted to go without ABS. Simple solution, is to just pull the fuse for the ABS modual, and presto, no more ABS.

:word8kn:

I'll be having a switch on the trans ABS sensor to turn it on and off.

Maybe he was looking to save weight. :dunno:

if you saw his car, you would know why. Basically, he eliminated the abs, as well as 75% of the stuff in his engine bay. I'll post a pic later
