I'm confused about your symptoms.

I am assuming the ABS light does not turn off in 3 seconds after you turn the ignition on? Is that true?

So procedure is: turn IGN on, remove check connector, wait 4 seconds, light start flashing. Are you following that order exactly?

i am by no means an expert on the subject, but the two times i had the same problem it ended up being a hairline crack in the alt fusible link.

on another one of my cars the abs light came on about 2 weeks before the alternator crapped out.

seems the abs system is very voltage sensitive.

when my abs light is on my cruise control and driving lights dont work. So i cant get the car passed inspection with the abs light on and with the driving lights not working. I drove it last summer with a temp permit and the abs light came on after about a month. So i need to get this abs thing behind me in order to drive it this summer but i will check out the ALT fusible link. do you know where its located by chance?

it is in the main fuse box under the hood. it's a monster 100 amp fuse, listed as "alt" on the fuse cover. it doesn't pull out, you have to unbolt it from the bottom.

interesting about the cruise and driving lights, i'm gonna look at the diagrams.

edit: i also see there is an abs fusible link as well. i'd check that too, altho i don't see how that would effect cruise and lights. still working on that.

When the ABS light is on the cruise control and driving lights do not work? There is not much in common with those three systems except a few very large fusible links that would cause much more to dfail than just those thee items.

I was going to suggest some tests with the actuator since it is also integrated with the ABS warning light circuit, but instead with this new info we need more detail about what doesn't work with the CC and what do you mean by driving lights (headlights, tails, retractors?)?
