every time i see one of these fuckin threads i get discouraged. lol you should pull it apart and see what rod was knocking and why. that shit is tedious no matter what engine its on. mistakes can be made. :( sorry to hear about it though man.

It didn't just happen "because It's a 7m" it happened because of an error somewhere. Don't get discouraged, there's plenty of us that run a 7m with no issues, and the reason is because it was built correctly..

@OP: There's a reason why It's knocking. What's the specs of your build? What all was done?

Lol thanks for the cheering up guys!
Ya I know the 7m isn't at fault, I musta screwed up somewhere but I don't know where and this is my 2nd time rebuilding this engine. I just don't have the cash to do it the way I want...
Used my only good crank left, measured everything and it was all within spec. So I ordered Toyota rod bearings and installed. Torqued mains and rods to tsrm spec.
And this time I made sure everything was super clean when assembling.

Oh and if u guys read you'll see I admit it's my fault in the 1st post. I just have shit luck and I know absolutely no one local that knows what they're doin to the extent that I would trust their advice.

I would love to stay 7m cuz u like my torque. I dunno wat I'm gonna do, I'm depressed now and have no funds for another rebuild...

Are you 100% positive that its the motor knocking and not something you quite possibly just forgot to tighten?

Motor mounts good?

I would spend the 10bux on a stethescope or use a screwdriver(stethe is easier.)

don't worry, we're all screwing with you..

just check and double check, might be as simple as loose bolts...

The noise doesn't happen at idle, only when I rev it up. It's the worst around 2-3k it's deff knock. Besides I spent the last 2 days in denial... Checked every bolt I could get to, everythings tight.

Ya I know ur fuckin wit me, that's y I said thanks for the cheering up. :)

I'm prolle just
gonna take a break from the supra for a lil bit. My neon's been neglected so it's time to fix that.

Ya I know there isn't, but if I'm gonna buy an engine I might as well go jz.
Machinist said he did that when he polished the crank.

Did you have the crank measured and ordered the correct size bearings? Also, it could be a strap or something on the pressure plate.. check everything man.. It's not bad luck.. It's knocking for a good reason. This means something is out of spec, just find what it is. Don't just assume rod knock..

I measured the crank and ordered the correct bearings per tsrm.
It's not the straps on the pressure plate I just got that fixed.
