A340E Swap question

So I am replacing the A340E in my supra, with another A340E, I have never done this before as all the cars I have owned to this point have been 5 speeds. Just curious if there is a proper way of doing it? Sorry if this seems noobish, I have decent technical knowledge and if I take something apart myself I am pretty good at putting it back together. If you guys could share the best way of doing it, and also making sure the converter stays full, when I pull the trans is it just going to dump all the fluid from the converter? Any pro tips, or even a guide would be super helpful. I tried doing a search but didn't really come up with anything.

Its a pain in the ass if you don't have a lift. Remove driveshaft, rear crossmember will need to come out to get it out. Drop exhaust to make it easier, remove trans lines from tranny, remove connectors on drivers side, undo shifter linkage, remove rear transmission mount, remove or seperate speedo cable, remove bellhousing bolts. The top ones are a complete pain in the ass. Use about 3 feet of extensions from behind up top to get them off. That's all I can remember right now. :p

Sweet, well the motor and trans will actually be out of the car when I am doing this, so I don't think it should be that hard in those regards, however like I said im just trying to minimize the amount of tranny fluid wasted and that kind of thing.

I have never heard of removing the rear crossmember to get the trans out.

Anyways, if the motor and trans are both out of the car it's fairly easy. I went the 5spd route a while back but i have taken the auto trans out a few times but now can't seem to recall the exact procedure to remove the trans when out of the car, crap :(

I think you just unbolt all the bellhousing bolts, then you have to remove the converter bolts from the fly wheel, im pretty sure you can slide the trans out without doing so but it will be harder to unbolt them because it will spin the crank/ motor and nothing is holding it in place. If that's the case you can use a crankshaft chain vise.

Expect to lose some fluid when you pull the motor/ trans tho :(

Yeah I realized that there is no reason to remove the driveshaft from the diff after the fact. About the fluid.. just add more if you lose it:p

Is there a proper way to refill the converter after the fluid pours out? i mean I don't expect the new trans to lose any fluid although I am adding new fluid while its out of the car.

You don't need to add any fluid to the trans while its out. Just drop it in, then put fluid in there, start the car, let it run on a flat surface then check trans fluid. Add if needed. You don't even need to add fluid to the converter before putting back in either.
