Afternoon everyone,

My question is relating to the strange factory rev limiting behavior shown by the gearbox on high RPM upshifts.

As I am currently upgrading components and building my car, I wish to eliminate this function as it sounds cool but slows the shift down.

I have attempted a google and forum search but havnt found anything, I may have been using the wrong key words.

Many Thanks,

Rev limit is the same as the manual. 7200 rpm.

No way to get around it without an ems.

Afternoon,

I don't quite mean the top end rev limiter, when I drive the car above say 5000RPM when I shift the autobox manually or sometimes when it shifts itself, there is a rapid series of pops and flames exit the exhaust.

No clue on the Air/fuel. It's off the road at present getting many changes, I will report back if it continues to exhibit the behavior post modification.

I'll put up links to videos showing the back firing taking place once I am home.

Back fires can be from being too rich or too lean.

this is true, why would it only run too rich or lean on gearshifts? Prior to the car coming off the road, engine modifications were intake and exhaust.
