It seems as if selz is talking about the AFM. Not the ISC.
Thus, the importance of understanding the question at hand is evident.

You dont "need" it you could just crack the TB open a bit to help idle but it will cause for a higher idle when it does warm up your better off putting the ISC back on for smoother running car and it does not matter where you mount it it does not feed the cylinders its a contolled leak that helps you car idle smoothly mount it under the manifold where you cannot see it and route it back before the throttle body most TB have a large port where you can route back into

ummmm yea ISC is the Idle Speed Controller. LOL

AFM is what you'd be tossing if you went MAP/Speed Density

depends. are you going to be running an AFM or taking the plunge into the world of aftermarket air metering? i am running the vpc on my ffim and am going to be keeping the isc but its not absolutely needed, you just need to adjust your idle higher than normal.

Im not even going to bother explaining it... i shouldnt need to as its right there in the quote. You guys should do some thinking before you post, why in the hell would i be talking about the afm? Ive been on this block long enough. There are so many advantages to speed density, that most people cant name most of them.
