For the first time in two yrs my 86.5 was on the road. First, i checked all plugs and changed the fluids... anyways, i let the car come to temp by getting used to the "feel" of the car, and then tried to push it. By pushing it means going WOT, and then it started chugging and bucking only at WOT. There are a few things that come to my mind. A vac prob caused by lines not hooked up right(the valve on the t-stat not hooked up; and a long vac line off the tb with a screw in the end of it.) Also, the gas tank has a big dent in it so... i dont know what type of pick up it has. (maybe?) One last thing, power steering is leaking enough to blow onto the exhaust and smoke, but yet not drip when not running. I cant find obvisous leaks. Thanx for any positive comments and have a great day. Shelby (P.S. I am fixing all the previous owners "jury rigging" and they know who they are. J/k)

buy a new power steering pump. YOu will need some of the pieces off of the core to go onto the new one. the pulley, the lag underneathr the pulley, and a two pronged male the thwo air hoses connect to. If you are leaking power steering fluid, I would bet that you don't have the breass washers on either side of the hydraulic pass through, and or you didn't put the small o ring on the two male insert and tighten that bitch, it think it is also a 17 seems like 14 but it's big....... You have been leaking powere steering pump all over, your going to want a few hand towels. YOu'll need to move the air intake, but keep it in one piece. Then remove the arm underneath connected to the top side bolt. With these things removed...., you have exposed the power steering pump. The hydraulic line. Means you will need some ramps, because the pump comes out from underneath. It's nice to have 2 ppl. but 1 can get it done just fine.

You will also want to drain your radiator. Then move to the large bottom radiator hose and remove it, pull it down from behind the bar as to leak into a pail of sorts. YOu will also be removing the radiator hose from above the pump as well. bleed it. remove the hydraulic hose. drain it into the pan and use it as a pesticide. j/k. wHEN YOU SEE THE FRONT BRCACE AND THE PUMP BECOMES MOBILE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE EXACTLLY WHERE TO PULL IT BACK TO AND TIGHTEN IT DOWN. oooops that's a lesson fellas, I ain't no none that there proofredun shiat either.
