Hi guys

i have tried searching for this information but have found any real solid answers

Car is a MA70 7mgte

1>. I have a stock auto radiator still in my car (i have swapped out the auto gearbox for a R154 manual). should i ditch the radiator ? or can it be useful ? i was thinking maybe to re-route engine oil to the radiator cooler part which was for the auto gearbox oil as oil/water cooling would be more effective than having the stock air to oil cooler ?

2> Shopping around for a front facing intake manifold and i relised that it would work out much cheaper for me to just get an engineering shop to mount a cylindrical style intake welded onto stock runners, however i noticed nobody is using cylindrical style manifolds as used on other cars. any reason why ? Is airflow to cylinders affected ? the system is pressurised under boost, howcome flow to cylinders would not be even ?

3.> im planning atleast a 400 to 500hp build. is a larger radiator a must have ? currently my car is stock and i use toyota coolant and clutch fan, car runs pretty cool with no hassel of heating.

anybody know a link on the actual nity grity stuff that every modifying mk3 owner should do, so far i know that i must bend my oil pick up feed towards centre of sump, will have that done soon. is there anything else ?

1) no need to ditch it. But it wouldn't hurt to get it rodded out. Now, if youre planning to upgrade the car, a new one would not hurt, and its good insurance. Routing the engine oil thru it is not worth the time and effort, plus you don't want the risk of cooler than necessary oil.

2) I've seen them. It is a major mod, IMO, and it's lots of custom work, besides the manifold itself. Read and read, and then read some more.

3) good insurance to have. Since you're new to the car, read and learn as much as you can, it will be A long road, make sure your car and your budget are up to it.
