ok i have a air fuel guage that i just installed, and it has 3 wires 1 red 1 black 1 green or sumthin,,,i may be wrong ,but im pretty sure that the black is grond, the red is the hot wire, and the other is supposed to bec onnected to the O2 sensor wire that sends the signal to the ECU...rite?

1.which wire from the O2sensor is the rite one to tap in to?
2. what should it read when im in park @ idle
3. shouldnt it move a little when im driving on the highway even though its readin stoich

im thinking i have it connected to the wrong O2 sensor wire ro sumthin...it reads lean when i turn the key forward, and when i drive i kinda have to step on it a little to get any other reading, and when it does finally read sumthin it never moves ...idle=rich...driving =stoich nothin ever in between!!

First - What is the brand of the guage? And is it a wideband?

Second - You need a wideband sensor to get accurate readings...that requires a bung welded on your downpipe.

Autometer means it's a narrowband o2 sensor (the "blinky light" gauge), and next to useless for actual tuning purposes.

However, since you already have it, you'll want to tap the O2 sensor wire going to the ECU. Depending on the year of your vehicle, the ECU diagram will be slightly different, but if you search around for ECU diagrams, you'll be able to find which wire to tap. The ECU is above and behind the glove compartment.

During normal driving, the light will go back and forth between lean (red) and rich (green). At WOT, it should go and stay at green. If you want to save yourself some trouble, try and sell the gauge and save up for a Wideband O2 setup, if you intend on doing your own tuning. If not, enjoy the light show. :)
