I have searched and didnt find a "how to" or any other info on installing a A/F gauge.

I have a autometer PHANTOM SERIES a/f gauge that came off my other car.
it has 3 wires. red, black, and purple.

does anybody know how to hook it up, i have a 7mge.

Thanks

can i tap into the ecu instead of going directly to the o2?

do i use a the o2 or sub o2? do you know the color of the wire on the ecu?

i dont have a wideband, and i had this gauge laying around.

thanks

i wouldn't even go threw the hassle to be honest reading your plugs would be more effective than a narrow band.

ok, well its a nice day and dont have anything planned and i have the gauge. i still want to install it.

thanks

well in that case.

i think the wire coming from the o2 before the connector is where you hook it up atleast thats how the light purple one was on my omni and it was a 1 wire also.

im not sure if you can install it at the ECU im gonna say no.

prolly gonna have to run a line threw the firewall and splice it into the single wire coming off the O2 sensor itself but before the yellow plug.

cool. guess i'll do it that way.
the reason i asked if i can do it with the ecu is because on my honda(no bashing plz) i wired it by tapping into the harness going into the ecu.

It's OK to connect it at the ECU. Connect to the primary sensor (OX1) if you want to monitor closed loop cross counting. Connect to the sub sensor (OX2) if you want to monitor the catalyst. In either case use ECU power if you want to observe ISCV delay...
