My drivers seat is in the "all the way back slide position" and the slide motor trips the breaker....will not move. I suspect that when i had the seats recovered a few years back, the wiring harness may have not been put back correctly and the wiring may have been cut, shorting the circuit - although it is just a guess.

I need to remove the seat to fix the problem. No clearance to the rear bolts and I am not sure if there is a manual way to move the seat forward. Has anyone had this issue before? Any photos available of what the seat looks like out of the car showing the motor? Any suggestions on how to remove the seat would be appreciated.

Thanks

I got caught by this years ago when I disabled the electrical system taking things apart. The driver's seat was in the full rear position. I was able to get the outer bolt removed; but, the inner one had no clearance. I rocked the seat back and forth until the bolt/mount broke... and welding a new nut back in is still on my list. If I had it to do over again, I would try wiring it perhaps directly to a battery. Not sure what breaker you're tripping though... outside of possibly a fuse.

I believe there is a 30 amp CB in the drivers side kick panel. If I remember correctly, all other seat motors worked but when i used the slide motor, the breaker would trip. A few years back I removed the wire from the fuse block to the seat since that breaker also controlled something else that was a nuisance, although I do not remember what it was.

I had the same idea about using an external battery and powering the seat to see if I can get it to move forward, just never got around to trying.

Have you tried a long straight wrench.

can you access the connector for the motors?
Part of the problem is trying to even see what is under the seat and how it is assembled. The best I have been able to do is use my phone and video the layout, have not yet seen any connectors. I have not tried a wrench ( I assume from the front) but I think the angle of the mount would prevent that from working. Worth a try though.

Thanks
