I'm about to go on my third 90 degree hose behind the engine in a freaking month. I replaced it and it was fine for about 2-3 weeks. Now when I come home I'm seeing steam and I open the hood and see liquid spilling down the side of that damned 90 degree hose again.

Is there anything more durable than this hose? I'm afraid that another one will just bust on me again.

It's the infamous one behind the block. Top back end.

You might want to check into exhaut gasses getting into your coolant system.

i.e. a BHG.

Since the channel area in the head ( and the most heat and most BHG's occur on the #6 cylinder) for coolant resides in that same location.

Or your leaving CRIMPS in the middle of the hose, or what brand of hose your using....how are you putting on the hose.

Your EGR plate ( on the back of the head ) might be leaking and blowing hot exhaut gasses over the hose, subsequently lowering its strength and causing the already built pressure in that hose to overpower the hose at its weakest point.

Just think along those lines. Its probably not the hoses fault. Something else is the matter!

i swear i want to shoot toyota for designing this motor with so many of those hard to reach pita hoses.

Like the one that goes from the head to ISC and then back to the head, the 90 degree hose in the rear, and then the other 90 degree hose under the thermostat housing. Such pain in the asses!
