Ok so it took me ages but I finally did my 89 taillight swap this week. Came out looking much better then the original. I'm aware Ive got to paint the side trimmings to match the center bit but other then that I think it looks much better then the outdated pre 89 lights

Wondering what you guys think of the spoiler....Ive always despised spoilers on cars and preferred that clean and sleek look however Ive grown accustomed to the one on my car. I'm not entirely sure if I should remove it or not. Thoughts? Opinions ?

I added a 3-piece on my 89 and 86.5 and have one in the garage for my 92, but I'm digging the wingless look with the hatch shade...

either way, ditch the pre 89 spoiler, looks like an after-thought..

I added the Shine Auto Whaletail.. but I like both the 89+ wing and the whaletail equally. Without isn't all that good but thats personal preference. Also, retro-spec sells the trim for the 89+. I would replace your rears at the minimum with fibreglass and paint it (as I did on mine. The full trim kit in FG only cost me about 250.00 compared to the single 88 trim piece I bought for 290.00.. lol. (plus.. not many trim pieces exist OEM now).

I've rocked both, wingless looks great IF you have a nice suspension setup. If it's stock, they don't look so great without a spoiler. What's $0.02 worth these days though, it's your car. :)

You'll like those 275's man. If your wheels are wide enough, stick 275's up front too. ;)

They're not too big if you hate understeer as much as I do... They're a bit more weight to roll around, but you'll never wish you had more front end grip. :)

I'm wingless with the hatchshade, and I don't think I'll be going back.. It just looks incredibly clean.

that being said, I might eventually have one of those small trunk/hatch lips made that other cars have.
