than it snowed while the car was still in the yard

fenders ready to get cut in
dscn11626259560gr6.jpg

bumpers ready for paint, but i ended up deciding to shoot the car first before the bumpers cause of overspray and room in the garage to put the fenders with wet paint while the car was in the garage

Hello,
your car looks really nice, but I'm afraid I can't say the same about the cage.
I know you said you will redo the front part so I would just like to give you some pointers.
The crosses in the door openings are not good, the "lines" from the smaller pipes need to connect.
The pipe going in front of the knees won't help much, almost nothing at all if you get hit in the side. More a show no go pipe. It needs to be straight so the force is taken up axialy.
The same goes for the pipe over the propeller tunnel since it is bent, it will only be more bent.
There is more, but I guess you already have some ideas on how to change it so I'll leave it at that.
On this swedish page you can see how a cage should look like: http://www.finess.se/bur2.html

btw, is that your supra in your avatar? it's my desktop pic in school :)

Aside from the obvious defects in the cage, it looks like you're making good progress. If you want that front bumper to stay pretty, you must reinforce the lower section under the opening. With no grille in there to hold it in place, it WILL sag and look terrible.

yea, i know the cage is completely fucked up. i gave the guy pictures how one was done who runs his in drift comps and it didn't turn out close. and somone else was suppose to weld it but he ended up welding it all and his welds suck. the guy that is redoing it work for a company/shop and thats all he does and his cages look awesome, so yea i know, huge waste, lesson learned, and never trust a cheap old redneck 3 hours away to do it......

and no, haha i wish it was mine thats in my avatar. i saw that and keep it as motivation

Car is looking good!

what do you plan to compete in NASA, SCCA etc? or? I'd like to start getting in to something like this too...
drifting, some drag racing for the hell of it, auto-xing, run it in DE's with the Porsche Club i'm in and prob NASA since they are more laid back. not too sure what class, prob the street unlimitied class or whatever its called. I do everything now except drifting and NASA and its a blast dude. best would be to start auto-xing, than do some DE's but continue auto-xing and once you move up and get good at DE than move to NASA
