Alright guys idk if all this matters but I have a 1989 toyota supra non turbo , it has a brand new steering rack with the non evo , with brand new inner tie rods , after that everything else is original . But my steering wheel has about 2inches of play until it 100% grabs samething when turning in either direction , when driving and u turn the wheel before it gets out of the 2inch range it feels like itstrying to grab and it slightly turns but slips until the wheel is turned past two inches . I tried shaking the wheel when I jacked it up but it seems super tight it won't shake at all. Bc I thought maybe tie rods

I have a similar issue with my car, perhaps not 2 inches of play but quite a bit. The steering just feels a bit numb with quick directional changes. I also have a bit of a knock if I load it up and change direction quickly. Steering rack has been rebuilt, new outter tie rods but inners are not new. I had a feeling it was the uni joint in the shaft, is there any way to check this?

well the stock steering wheel was never removed. so i assume its on tight. doesnt hurt to check. and idk i was thinking about it being a intermediate shaft issue, but even if it is i cant find the shaft anywhere online or at parts stores, Where is it sold?
