89+ front bumper mesh removal???

Hey guys I notice in the pics some of you guys cut out the mesh piece on the 89+ front bumpers to show off the after market intercooler. What I wanted to know is are there any tricks to doing this? I know it leaves little v shaped slots on the inside. But how does the lower lip hold up when its not supported by that mesh anymore?? Any advice would be great. To poor right now to get a gspec nose:3d_frown:

Are you sure you want to do that. I know a lot of people hate it, trust me, you can see the intercooler even with the mesh there.

If you want to show the intercooler get a bomex bumper, those the intercooler well.

Yea I was kinda thinking the same thing. Better to just save the money and do it right than hack the front bumper up. Thanks man.

I believe shine auto sells something that you can use in place of the mesh. It looks pretty sweet.

I was just on shineauto looking if they had some sort of itsert but couldnt find anything except lips and skirts. :dunno:

You can also try pming Rodel. It's the grill insert.

Also if you take that out usually the middle will sag.

Yea thats what I was worried about the middle sagging down, I think ima get a spare front bumper cut the mesh out see if i can can somehow fill in the v cuts with fiberglass and put in a metal support so the middle wont sag. Like the baby blue supra on shine auto that front end looks real nice he took the mesh out filled in the v cuts and put a lip on it. Exactly what i want.
