89 7MGE-T Build Thread - Little Fixes

So this build is gonna start off pretty slow, but the objective is to fix all the little issues with the car and go for more power down the road.

I picked it up last weekend from a friend. Who had recently purchased it from another friend.
I didn't need another car, but I couldn't pass up this great deal.

First things first. The car came with a few missing AC components. Its been nearly 100 degrees every day for the last two or three months. I ordered the AC Compressor and Drier the day after picking it up.

Next on the list was audio. One of the front speakers were blown. Ordered a set of Polk 4" speakers. and swapped em in.

Next was a mission to fix my idle problem. Did some research and it agreed with Patrick's suggestion. Clean the Idle control valve.

Doesn't look too dirty in these pictures, but I cleaned it all out, used some lube on the idle adjusting screw (not shown) and some grease on the step motor contacts. I forgot to get after pictures, but they looked much better.
Reinstalled it and viola no more idle issues! Awesome

Then we tried to install the AC compressor and drier only to realize the compressor pulley didnt line up! The seller sent the wrong compressor.

Installed a Head Unit. Took pics. Lol

But before that....I'll need a new driveshaft =( Or at least this one converted to a 1-piece
$170 to convert to 1-piece or $320 for brand new 1-piece aluminum?

didn't get a picture after i cleaned off under the lights

I need to do something with the middle piece

each light came from different people so they don't exactly match

I need to order some new gaskets. drivers side came with a decent one, passenger came with none and the old one was toast.

tried to install this piece of shit pipe

of course it didn't fit...

Used some plastic filler and color match spray paint on the front bumper. Its not perfect but I think it looks better.

Get the Driftmotion one, it fit perfect. Header wrap that downpipe to lower under-hood temps. A 25 foot roll is enough. Also make sure you anti-seize the bolts!

Isnt this a GTE swap and not a turbo conversion? From the picture those look like factory oil hardlines.

Check your turbo oil lines. Are they hard or softlines? Straight pipes are obnoxious. Better off getting Driftmotion DP and catback than a cheap custom job.

well it depends where you live, i know in FL we dont have emissions, so open downpipe they dont care about. straight pipe is alil obnoxious but still sounds good
