I had just dropped off my ex at her cousin's apartment by State Street in Madison, and decided to see if there was any rice out on East Washington Ave. on the way back. I was passing the bars by the railroad tracks, and at the red light, a red early 90's NSX with dark tints and blingin 7 spoke wheels pulls up next to me. His girlfriend was in the car and her window was cracked, and she started yelling at him not to race the ugly black "mustang" just because it had a loud exhaust! :evil2:

I had tuned for 15 psi earlier that afternoon, in addition to slapping on my Nitto555's....so I decided to see if he was still going to play. I revved, letting him hear my obnoxious turboxs bov. He brings the rpms up, I start pre loading and brought it up to 5000rpm. The light turned green, and I jumped a car and a half on him in first. I couldn't believe it...the 2nd NSX I have seen in my life wanted to race me. I pulled another car in 2nd, another car and a half in 3rd, then let off.

He looked VERY confused when he caught up. He rolled down his passenger window the rest of the way to flash a thumbs up...which probably pissed his girl off considering it was about 35 degrees out :biglaugh: I returned it, and took the hwy 30 exit to head home.

Early 90s NSX are slow. I was driving my brothers 96 M3 (exhaust and intake) and raced one from about 75-130mph. The NSX had exhaust, wheels and a chameleon paint job... He was in front and could not pull at all. I could not close the distance either. A few miles down, he ended up behind me and I hit it at 60mph up to 110mph. I could not pull on him and he could not close the gap either. When he came by, I put a thumbs up and he just gave a dirty pissed off look at me......

They're not that fast, but damn are they sexy. It's almost sad really, but with those looks you expect much more. I've only ever seen one nsx on the road, it was during rush hour so of course we didn't race, he wouldn't have wanted any anyway. Congrats on the kill.

The auto ones are crazy slow. I've seen the auto ones run high 14's, low 15's in the quarter at the local track. I was lucky enough to find a manual nsx who wanted to run. I've been told if the guy can drive to save his life with the manual, he can bag a low 13, high 12.

Good kill. My dad's friend used to have one, but has since gotten over his mid-life.

I used to see ~4-5 of them around here, but haven't seen any in a year or two. Same with mkIVs, haven't seen many of them around here lately either.
