did a swapp with a 88 turbo and 89 non turbo. after the swap for the 89 was done the engine started since i used the old ecu from the 88 but there was another problem, it seems that the gauges didnt work. The 88 had yellow plugs and the 89 had grey plugs so i was wondering if anyone here would know how to solve this problem. thanks.

There are a few changes made to the chassis wiring that affects your problem. I cant think of anywhere that anyone has documented what exactly it was. I know it affects the headlights and the gauges but other than that....Everything I have read had them swapping in a correct chassis year ECM and harness.

i was also wondering if anyone would know if i can just rewire my plug that controlls that interior or if there is any shop that can make an adapter that could possibly change the 89 interior harness to work with the 88 interior harness.

Im in the same situation at the moment. I am going to try to make an adapter but havent identified what all the wires are yet. If anyone knows what the changes were or what the 3 extra plugs are on the 88 harness are please chime in
