hey guys. i need help wit an 88 turbo. the car has been down for about 6 months wit a burned piston and bad hg. im wonderin should i go for the rebuild or op for a new motor. or even a 2 or 1j swap. and if i go for the rebuild should i do it from the bottom or pull the entire motor. thanx

It's completely up to you, Rebuilding the 7M will probably cost less and will be legal. The 1J Has its pluses, as well, and the 2J is a lot of custom work. In the end the members of this forum won't decide. You will. It really all depends on what you wanna do.

If you are asking that question you are a long way from doing a 1J swap. Start with the research and go from there.

And yes...with the 1J bellhousing.

^^ agreed, i've been reading about the 1J swap for over 2+ years and i will finally be tempting it this year .

well im just gettin into this scene but ive been doin swaps wit rbs and sr's. and hondas for years now. and ive been readin for a while about the 1j swap. and that question was the decidin factor to do it or not. but thanx for the answer anyway.
