'88 bumper conversion

I have a '90 MA70 Supra. Do I need anything other than the bumper cover if converting to an '88 version?

It should be the reverse process of converting -89 -> 89+

I think its just a bolt up affair though.

My old '89 had a pre '89 front end on it. Looks much better than the 89+ look. But it was like that when i got it so I dont know what is needed. Reference parts numbers on the tsrm.

Why do I like the earlier bumper? I think it looks good and the grille looks like it'll bring more air to the engine bay compared to the newer version.

I don't know why people seems to dislike the early style bumpers and convert it to the newer style. I like both styles to be honest. I guess it is like the saying "you always want what you don't have."

Wow never thought of the cutout on mine, looks good. Im a fan of pre-89 front bumper as well. First time I saw 89+ I was staring at the center-top with the grill gone and was like....wtf?

Where that cutout is, is where a ShineAutoParts turbo A scoop needs to be!! That's my plan

I have been playing with the idea of putting in a hood scoop when i do the turbo install myself. SOrta thinking of a cross between the original concept drawing and the newer celica hoodscoops and the stock look it currently has... (but square not round) - i need to whip up a 3d model of it to see what it looks like or maybe photochop something

sorta like the crappy paint version i just did - but straighter heheh

I think you'll need the bumper cover, grille (or grill:icon_conf ), and turn signals. Good choice BTW

Here`s a pic of my old bumper. I used another 87-88 lower grille.....I have a set of pre-89 grilles if you need them! PM me for details.
