So I've been lurking here and there for a while. I bought this 87 Turbo from an old member (punkybooster on SF) about a year and a half ago. In my young mind I thought it would make a cool car to mess around with. Unfortunately I only had the chance to do minor work and put about 100 miles on it until I moved for college and had real bills to pay. I couldn't afford to bring it with me, but it's had a nice garage to stay in for the time being.
I can say that I at least got the car for a good price, given the problems that popped up. The steering rack is shot, no power steering. There's a mean parasitic drain that kills the battery in about 12 hours. No cruise control unit...oops. The throttle linkage managed to...uh..break while driving.
I wouldn't exactly call it "clean", but everything else is in pretty good shape. The car sways like a boat on the old struts, and there's some serious 4x4 action going on, but once I get a new setup, a new rack, and a new pump, I should be free and clear. Hoping to have it ready for active duty in a couple months.
Anyway, what it's got:
- 60-1 Upgraded ct-26 turbo
- 550cc injectors
- Lexus AFM
- Walbro fuel pump
- Aeromotive AFPR
- K & N intake
- Blitz Nur Spec 3" exhaust (w/silencer)
- BIC 3" downpipe
- 3" test pipe
- Custom mounted Prosport gauges, AEM wideband
Oh, and the wheels are temporary. Just wanted to get the sawblades off.
Day 1:
As it stands now:
So yeah.
