Hey everyone i have been on the forum for about a year now and this is my first post. I really like to read alot and learn as much as i can so really havent had anything to post about yet.I bought an beautiful midnight blue 1987 targa turbo 5 speed supra. Only problem is i cant pick it up until the eighth of October(no time or gas money right now). The previous owner was great enough to repaint the whole car and provide brand new dark blue leeather for the interior. The headgasket blew and he bought all the neccessary equipment to fix it including the new gasket set and 2mm metal HG. BUT he found out the turbo was cracked and just ran out of time and money. I gave him the 900 bucks he asked for and now its mine.... :)! I really wanna do him a favor and get it running again i could tell he loved supras as well. Well ill have pictures around the eighth of the month when i go pick it up.Thanks for reading and look forward to posting build pics!(when i myself find the money lol)

well first things first ..deck the head and black and timing cover of course...and 2mm metal headgasket goes on..and arp head studs...it already has aftermarket rims!.. as money allows im keeping it pretty stock with just bolts ons including exhaust, aftermarket intercooler and hard pipes, and some new tein coilovers. yes that would be great...cant wait to get pics up!

i really got luck. Its a good set up for a build i agree. The new leather skins on everything ran him 1000 bucks and that was including doors, and leather visor skins. Just need the time to put some elbow grease into it. Im derrick by the way and from Houston,tx if anyone ever wants somones help or to get together for a supra meet let me know!

I found out some interesting facts tonight. It is an original Texas car with a clean title(and no rust). The guy I bought it from is the 2nd owner and is good friends with the first owner who bought it from the showcase inside the dealership in lewisville,TX .All the maintenance from new is documented and receipted! He replaced the clutch at 90k. The car has 120k original miles.Thats pretty good considering it was driven until 2006.So that makes me the third owner with great knowledge of the cars history.Oh and the guy is giving me an 1987 TSRM, so ill have a great guide if I decide to dive into anything. So thanks I will take great care of her.I wish you well in your project Dr. Chill. Can't wait to get it running again and on the road im sure eveyone knows the feeling ha :):icon_bigg
