I am having trouble finding anyone that supplies a good quality ring and pinion for my supra. I'm running about 500 rwhp and stripped the teeth off the pinion and tore up the ring gear pretty bad this weekend. other than those two items the diff is in good shape. Any recommendations for a supplier? I went on Jaws Gear website and they only show parts for trucks. None of the local chain stores show anything. I want something that is going to stand up to some power as I hook up really good with 295 35zr18 BFG g-force TA. thanks in advance for any help.

As far as I know there is no aftermarket ruling and pinnion. Only option is to find a good used unit.

Thanks sidewinder, I was as shocked as anyone when it happened. I am calling Jaws today as well as I hear that the 8" gears from a V6 truck axle are the same. I attached some pics of the carnage. :aigo:

Yes! success! Jaws Gear has them on the shelf and they knew exactly the ring I needed for the supra in the 3.90 ratio $249 plus shipping. They did say that that was the numerically lowest they have so if anyone wanted the 3.7 gears they do not have those. But the 3.9 and up they stock if anyone needs a new set for a rebuild.

The car is set up as my signature shows. This was done on the street. I've never raced this car. I have time slips that were with the paperwork from the previous owner that show a fastest 60' time of 1.909 with a 12.6 1/4 mile at 118.62. So I mean its a strong street car but by no means a race car. But she sure is pretty. lol The previous owner is Tekdeus out of Vancouver BC. He did the build. The tires are BFG G-Force TA 295 35 18. But I do have to admit I had just gotten finished schooling a turbo VR6 GTI.:naughty:

I know you found one, but for reference, Weir Performance also sells them: http://www.weirperformance.com/finaldrivegears.html

Supra 1986.5-92- ALL

New ratios: 4.11, 4.56, 4.88, 5.29, 5.71 $238.70 ea.
**NEW** 4.30 ratio $238.70 ea.
Used ratios: 3.58, 3.73, 3.91 - Contact Us

If you are rebuilding your diff, you may want to look at Weirs other parts, like the solid pinion spacer and their maxgrip lsd kits.

Yeah I checked with them, they only had the 3.9 ratio in used unit. I'm rebuilding so everything going in is going to be new. I appreciate the info though.

Damn. No idea how you did that on street tires on the street at that power level. I'm at more power on a sticky set of drag radials (actually now on bias ply ET Streets) and I launch my car about 5 times per ride, per day, and mines still together. Good job! Haha
