Ok so I have a 86.5 NA shell (pretty much gutted to a bare shell). If I was to remove the body harness and replace it with one from a 89 would a 89 efi harness work? Would I run into any other problems?

Just an idea im pondering since the 87 efi harness is no longer in production and I have a brand new 89 harness in my room.

Thanks In Advance
BJ

Are you talking about the engine harness or the harness behind the dash?

I've got an 86.5 GE and pretty much just turned it into an 87 GTE. I replaced all the harnesses behind the dash (what a bitch to do to). I'm guessing you would need to replace all the harnesses to make sure it would work. You can make your 86.5 an 89 but it will take a lot of work. 89 is it's own unique year model.

the body harness is what I am talking about since I have a brand new efi harness for a 89 I plan to swap over the remaining wiring from a wrecked 89 that I have.

I would first be sure that the EFI harness you have for the 89 will work for that body harness that you have. From what I have heard, there are 3 different 89 harnesses. Then, if it will work with that body harness, I would do as much research into your connectors for certain things. Chances are you will have a couple that just aren't the same. If you are good with wiring, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.
