I thought all of these things were interchangeable from 87 -92. Why are my wire connectors different? Why is this car being such a pain in the a**. I ran into the same problem when I replaced the seats and door locks. Different wire connectors. Has anyone else had these issues with an 87?

My car is an 87 and my parts car is an 88. My car has sliders for the temp and the 88 is digital. The connectors are completely different and there are a different number of wires.

IIRC we never got the slider setup in the US mk3's so its prolly a jdm unit somebody spliced into the car.

i have a 89 control in my 86.5 it plugged up perfectly.

This thing isn’t spliced. It’s a one piece harness. My car also has reflectors under the rear license plate. I have not seen this on other cars. My 88 has a different license plate surround altogether.

euro cars had the slider controls and the reflectors under the plate. maybe it was imported?

I don’t know what the deal is on this thing. First it took me 2 months to get it licensed since the vin kept coming back as not a real vin number. We did a background check and it came back clean. It just has some oddities that other cars done seem to have. I’m not sure what to make of it.

Oh and check the mirrors out. My 88 has solid mirrors while these will fold in. Not sure if other 87s are like that or not.

Dude, You seem to have gotten a Eurospec 87... If you ever want to get rid of that license plate surround PLEASE let me know! I'd love to get my hands on one of those!!

Is it common to find a euro spec supra in the states? This might finally explain some things. How did this car get here?

You are lucky to have a Eurospec supra. Dont complaint. So i guess the dash harness is different for your CC. I'd say keep it like that. Its original. You probably have one of the few that are here. Maybe the only one, but im not sure.

Well this sure explains a lot. I thought I had some weird chopped up car. It explains the vin number issues as well. I thought there was something funny about it but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I will be keeping it as stock as I can from here on out. I already replaced the seats since the leather ones were shredded but that’s the only mod so far. I wish I knew this sooner. It would have helped when trying to explain the vin issue to the DMV.
