i have an 87 w/ a 7mge. can i get a 2jzgte in there? or for that matter a 1jzgte? or...should i just do the 7mgte? is there head swapping like putting a 2jzgte head on my 7m or should i do the whole block due to the difference in oiling systems and compression.
also are pacesetter and obx really my only 2 choices for headers? who makes the best lightweight pulley kit? and for now i really want to know how much i can get out of a n.a. 7mge

you dont want pulleys!!! do a search before you post...but you can fit a 2jz and 1jz and you could aslo do a 1.5jz which cost a lot...do you have smog were you live if so id stick with the 7mgte pretty easy to find parts for...not saying 1jz and 2jz arnt...but if you have smog in your state or county id just stick with the 7m good reliable motor...the jzs are upgrades from the m series motors so they have there advantages....

no you cant swap the heads between 7m and the jz, the 7m is a very good engine just stick with it. as for n.a. the 7m ge is pretty fast but there isnt realy much upgrading since it is pretty much as fast as it stands stock, with headers and exhaust it can be faster but not by much.

why don't i want light weight pulleys to free up horsepower? please explain that to me? can i put a 7mgte head on my 7mge? i live in ca so i live with smog laws....i also heard that in 89, two years after my car that toyota changed a cross member or something so they could fit the 1jz, and hence 2jz under the mk3 hood

yes you can swap the heads but the 7mge is already the better head since it has deeper valves.. I dont know about the whole pully thing. trust me the 7m series is much better than you hear, just properly tourque the head bolts to 70 ft lbs and keep it in the car you wont be disappointed.the 1jz is a bit overrated...

Light pulley's are fine but you DON'T want an undampened Crank pulley.

Intake came is different. Despite popular belief, it's NOT worthwhile to run an N/A intake cam in a turbo motor. Don't even get me started.
