Yeah so I have a 1987 n/a auto, and my stock rims are chiping away the paint. So I was thinking I want to paint them like a matte black. What are your suggestions about that, and what are the steps and things I need? Thanks for your info if you have any!

Thanks man but those are the wrong type of rims. The 87' are the "sawblades". I think thats what there called. lol
I know what sawblades are lol.....I was just showing you that if you take your time and do the right preping that you can get the rims to look nice and keep the paint on there....I would suggest using an adhesive promoter in place of primer too the paint will stick to it a bit better....so you would want to sand them down using a rougher sandpaper and work you way up to around 1500 or 2000grit. doing the right preping is a BIG part of painting in general. after the preping you would use the adhesive promoter, then spray your base coat....using as minimal paint as you can to get a uniform color...then you would spray the clear.....after that wetsand using 1500 or 2000 grit.
