Just wonderin if the tranny is the same between the two or if i need to swap driveshafts with it. Because i have heard the early one is slightly longer but i dont seem to see on SM any thread on it... yes i searched i just cant find it

The W58 from the 7MGE and the R154 for the 7MGTE are not the same length. So if you change transmissions, you need to change driveshafts.

Um what.... i never said anything about the w58. I said the pre 89 r154 and the 89 up r154. because the autos are diff drive shafts between those years i wanted to know if it were the same for the r154. but someone already pm'd me they are so yah.....W58 HAH thats funny
And I was filling in the gap of your memory where you thought there was two transmission driveshafts.
There is only one length Auto driveshaft. One length R154 driveshaft. One length W58 driveshaft.
They never changed.
The only thing that changed in the R154 was the speedo drive gear.
