i pretty much decided to make a new build gallery my first was..well it just sucked.

So here is my build on my 86.5 supra that started life in June 1986 months after i was born.

the original 7mge caught a rod knock and i had to find a motor to replace with i bought a 87 supra and rebuild the 7mge here are the pictures of pretty much everything ive done since.

This is a before picture.

I have also replaced the heavy 2 piece drive shaft with a 1 piece steel.

As of now this is how she looks i just have some more body work to do and then ill be painting her.

But today the drive shaft started wobbling i slowed down and stoped. Then as soon i put it into gear, The end that bolts to the Diff. riped out and left me stuck, i believe that bolts came loose i should have lock tited them bastards.

looks pretty good that rod was way beyond messed up, i have a couple of questions.

How did you like that DSS shaft before it came undone? Is it steel or aluminum? I cant really tell from the pic, Did it have any wobbles or anything before the mentioned mishap?

Also what clutch is that in the picture and how do you like it?

Im asking because im lookin for both right now and im not real sure what to go with.

Yeah man that thing was knockin for like 3 months...

sorry for the late response but the shaft is steel its only weighted like 25 pounds
no it never gave me any problems kinda makes me feel more secure then the original 2 piece. i paid like 400 for mine they are on sale right now like 375 i think.

The clutch was called a stage 1 it was made by grip force i have have no problems with it at all. It came with the center bearing and inserter. I found this on ebay.

Good news is that i got those new bolts in and tightened them up real nice and everything is all good with that. My ratchet sliped off a bolt and hit me in the head full force. i have a nice gash from it. Just a little blood and sweat.

Pretty much i found out that it would be good to go over all my bondo work With "Tiger hair" its like short hair fiber glass in resin already just add the hardener and spread and be prepared to sand this stuff alot. Its alot harder then bondo.
