So i jus picked up a new 86.5 supra. Now after reading from what i understand is that they made the 2 diff styles in the same year so my question is: My production date is july of 86. Is thier any type of "first production type cars" where if it is one of them it would be worth more money? The only reason i ask is because it would have been on of the first ones they made and i know with other older vehicles it boost's the price or maybe sparks the eye of a buyer. Well anyway i just was throwing it out thier. Thanks guys.

IIRC the last 6 digits of your VIN will give the production # of your Supra. Now, whether they started over with the MKIII body style is something I'm unsure of. But I would guess that a low production # would boost the value IF the car is still stock rather than having been tricked out (to be kind) or molested (to be honest).

Just for reference there were 33,283 of the 86.5 model made, though I've also seen that figure referred to as the number imported into the US.
