Ok so here we go first ill give you a little history of this car..(as much as i personally know). My buddy josh called me up one day right after i moved to georgia from colorado asking me if i wanted to buy a "bad ass supra" for 1500.00(which has a "small overheating problem". i told him i didnt have the money to buy it at that point in time plus how was i going to get it 1500 miles so i was like im going to have to pass on the deal(he was selling the car for somebody he knew)...so josh convinced my other buddy to buy it pretty much by saying hey buy this supra its better on gas then your 1970's buick electra and said he would help him fix it up so matt agreed and gave the guy like 500.00 (shoulda been a hint there was something wrong) the guy said he just wanted it gone at this time.. so matt bought the car and on the way home i get a phone call from the buddies saying hey man this thing is over heated in less than 2 miles and is dumping anti freeze all over but the couldnt see from where so i told them to let the car cool down completely take the radiator cap off and leave it off top off the coolant and crank the heater all the way up they call me like 45 min later and were like hey man that helped we made it back to the pad and it didnt overheat... so i instructed them to find a flash light and look all over the engine bay to find the leak... well there was a heater hose broken so they fixed it and was like man thats simple put everything back together and ... guess what still overheats... they call me and i told them i would do some research... found out it could possibly be the heater union banjo fitting... left them scratching their heads or a BHG and they denied the BHG all day long went and retightened the bajo fitting they say (i dont think it was loose) so they were like well its not dumping fluid now i was like well ok maybe you fixed it so they went out and did a tune up on it ... call me up hey this thing is running like crap still after a tune up and i asked is it dripping again... they replied no so i told them to check the fluid level ... empty filled it back up and started pouring like niagra falls and i proceeded to explain its a BHG... well maybe ill just get some "block sealant" i quickly replied no its not going to help you one bit it will actually make situations more costly and damage the motor...so my buddy parked it and got a kia from his grandpa and let the supra sit... i moved back from georgia... couldnt find work .... and came out and saw the supra... and when i saw it i laughed a little... paint is faded big dent in the drivers quarter different color fender... missing trim in places and a blown head gasket... and my buddy was like hey wanna buy it 800 bucks and ill throw in a broken xbox 360(just what i need a busted ass car and broken xbox thats every kids dream) so i kindly declined and went on with my day... and then i stared thinking.. these cars are pretty decent when they are done right so i kinda wanted it but one again i was broke... so a few months back he still had it sitting and and he was gunna move in with me so im like hey ill buy your car now since you dont need the extra baggage and i gave him 600 since he did the tune up put a new battery in it and a couple different things (and yes i got the broken xbox too) so i went out and bought a water pump, timing belt kit, full motor gasket set from a local engine shop and once again it sat.. so today i had the day off and decided to eh why not ill start wrenching on it and fix the head gasket so i started it up and what do i hear ... knock knock... whos there rod knock so instead of a simple head gasket job i now get to replace bearings and the head gasket... luckly i bought the full motor gasket set and yes i was slacking today a little it was hot as hell outside so pretty much i got the hood off and started cleaning and disassembly.. found out im missing the a/c completely somebody cut the cruise control cable and other miscellaneous things and so hopefully thursday or middle of next week ill have the motor out due to a horrible schedule at work... but now for what everyone wants the pics of this car...http://s1176.photobucket.com/albums/x331/sk8erdude3090/?albumview=slideshow
