i have an 86.5. check out bishops section at ma70.com and drjonez's site 4cefed.com they both have some NA performance sections.

IMHO however, youre wasting your time. go turbo, that what i did with my 86.

Or go 1 or 2jz. 7mgte's seem to be getting rarer and rarer.
2jz has easier to find replacement parts because its newer.

just throwing out that option, its more expensive tho.

1600 kg car + 3 litre NA motor is never going to be fast no matter how many $$$ you drop on it!

Weight is against you.

NAWWWZZZ + downhill + hurricane = mid 13s. LOL

You would need a LOT of technology to get any appreciable gains in power.

Things you could do

1. New tubular exhaust manifold
2. New Down pipe and exhaust
3. Port and polish head (major bucks very small increas in power)
4. New Intake manifold, perhapse a dual runner like MR2
5. Bump compression to near 10 or 11 to 1. ( would need to watch for detonation mayby add nock sensor ?)
6. Stiffen Up the valve train in order to up the RPM range.
7. Adapt some sort of Variable valve timeing (can be done but $$$$)

After you have done all this(after youve become buddies with Donald Trump that is) You will have a monster 300 HP NA Supra. (this is what the IS 350 is pumping out)

In all serousness there is no justification for NA anymore. Turbo technology has completely ereased any of the early turbo problems like serious lag.

Coming from someone who has put a ton of money into his NA and bought nearly every mod possible for it, I must advise you to go turbo. Even with all the mods, a healthy engine, and enough weight reduction to get my car under 3000 lbs, I still lose to STI's, C5's, and just on Saturday a Gallardo. Already started the 7mgte fund, the NA engine is simply not worth the time or money.
